Wild Lakes Expedition: Day 1

We all meet at the Engen 1 stop in Pongola at 10:30 to depart by 11:00. The road takes us to the southern Lebombo Mountains at Jozini Dam. This scenic drive through the mountains leads us to Manguzi where we come to our last part of our journey through the forested and vegetated dunes to the coast and our camp at Banga Nek.

We set up camp just behind the first dune and enjoy this beautiful piece of paradise.

Wild Lakes Expedition: Day 2

The day is taken at a leisure pace. There are several adventurous activities to do throughout the day. For those who wish we head north up to Kosi Bay mouth to take a look at the traditional fish traps which use the tides. There is also opportunity to enjoy a bit of snorkelling.

We spend a relaxing afternoon on the beach back at Banga Nek, and end off the day with a turtle experience in the evening. (ZAR 85.00 per person not included)

Wild Lakes Expedition: Day 3

We travel south along back roads and into the area of Lake Sibaya where we will witness rural South African living at its best. After the breathtaking Lake Sibaya we move on to the World Heritage site of Lake St Lucia, and the KwaNibela Peninsula.

We spend the evening experiencing the vigour of the Zulu Culture.

Wild Lakes Expedition: Day 4

Our Morning drive takes us through the stunning Lucati sand forests of the KwaNibela Peninsula and along the edge of False-bay, before we climb on the tar road at Ezimpondweni and make our way back to Hluhluwe then on to our way back home.
