African Ivory Route

African Ivory Route Expedition: Day 1

Your Land Rover Expedition starts bright and early from Land Rover Experience Gerotek where you will become a little more acquainted with your expedition vehicles that you will be using for this adventure.

The Expedition heads north towards Mokopane and it will be the last refuel point for the next few days. Once through the town we head up into the mountains and the traditional area of Mafefe.

Venturing deeper into the mountains all along the Olifants River the roads quickly change and force you to change your expedition vehicle into Low range. Reaching camp in the late afternoon we will be in time to witness a truly African sunset over the Northern Drakensberg Mountains. Our home for the night will be traditional Pedi style huts and will give us a true African feeling.

African Ivory Route Expedition: Day 2

Continuing in Low range you make your way through the mountains and the Lekgalameetse Nature Reserve travelling down the escarpment into the Lowveld. Following the African Ivory Route you pass through some of South Africa’s most beautiful afro-montane forest areas heading towards Gravelotte and then off to the beautiful African Ivory Route Mtomeni camp along the banks of the Letaba River. Once settled in at camp you will climb into the open vehicle and make our way on an afternoon game drive.

African Ivory Route Expedition: Day 3

An Experienced guide will walk you down to the Letaba River keeping you enthralled with his intimate knowledge of the smaller details of the African bush. After breakfast you will be heading into the Kruger National Park for a full day game drive. We stop at the Satara camp before heading off into the Manyaleti wilderness. Tonight you will sleep at Ndzaka African Ivory Route Camp.

African Ivory Route Expedition: Day 4

An early morning game drive and lavish African style breakfast before you head out on the road back ending at Land Rover Experience Gerotek.
