Arrive in Maun airport (airport code FBMN) at around lunch time, we make our way to Motsentsela Tree Lodge, once we have settled in we are introduced to and get orientated with our vehicles. We then take a short drive and get used to the way our vehicles handle the thick Kalahari sands.
We then make our way back to the lodge to enjoy a great evening together.
An early start to the day as we make out way in convoy into the Okavango Delta. We head north from Maun into the Wildlife haven of the Moremi Game Reserve. Once we enter Moremi we enjoy an extended game drive en route for the beautiful Xakanaxa camp, our home for the next two nights. Xakanaxa camp is a small private Lodge situated on the banks of the Xakanaxa lagoon in the heart of the Okavango delta. After arriving at Xakanaxa camp we settle in and if time allows we climb into the open game drive vehicle and enjoy a beautiful afternoon game drive. We end the day off with some exquisite cuisine and great evening under African skies.
After another great early morning game drive, we then enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and make way to experience the waterways of the Okavango in an amazing boat cruise.
We traverse the channels enjoying all the wild African natural beauty of the Delta and end our day enjoying sundowners in this water wonderland.
After a lavish breakfast, our journey continues through the Moremi Game Reserve and to the Khwai gate. We then travel along the Khwai River, one of the best game drives in Africa, before heading north and into the Chobe National Park.
We cross the Magikwe sand ridge and through the Mopane woodlands before we get to the wilderness site of Savute. Tonight we book into the beautiful Savute Safari Lodge. Savute Safari Lodge is situated on the banks of the dry Savute channel which is engulfed amongst beautiful gnarled Acacia Camel thorn trees.
Savute is home to a multitude of animals and delivers an action packed experiences for visitors to the region. Game viewing, more specifically in the dryer season is characterised by hordes of elephants jostling each other around half-empty pans and watering holes while thirsty impala, kudu and other herbivores have to wait for a chance to get to quench their thirst. Savute offers a once in a lifetime pure wilderness experience.
An early morning Game drive and late breakfast will be the plan for the morning. An afternoon siesta will make the lazy hours disappear, before we head out for another great afternoon game drive. Today one we take in the splendour of Africa at an African pace. The Savute area is best known for its lions which are the only lions that will take on an adolescent elephant.
The road today will take us north away from Savute onto the glorious Chobe River. The journey is filled with abundant wildlife this beautiful stretch of Africa boasts. We book into the Chobe Safari Lodge and then head out onto the river for a sunset/game viewing boat cruise. Sunsets on the Chobe River will be a memory that will stay with you forever.
After a late breakfast we make way for the astonishing sight and sounds of Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls is one of the 7 Natural wonders of the world. Crossing the border at Kazungula it is only a short drive to the town of Victoria Falls. We book into the stately Victoria Falls Hotel. Victoria falls is Africa’s Adventure capital be it bungi jumping the Victoria Falls Bridge or flying like a fox over the Batoka gorge, there will be lots of fun and opportunities to take those memorable photos. For the more sedate there can be an afternoon boat cruise arranged to experience the beautiful Zambezi River.
We can spend the morning taking a walk around and taking a last glimps at the beautiful Victoria Falls before our Adventure comes to an end with a shuttle to the Victoria Falls airport (Airport code FVFA) for your flight back to civilisation.
